Have Courage

Happy New Year! We are half-way through January, and new opportunities await us!

The start of this year brought a big change for me. The little family boutique I worked part-time in for 3+ years closed its doors. This was my “happy place”. I loved unpacking boxes of cute clothes for little ones, soft stuffed animals of every kind, and lovely scented candles for the home.  I had the opportunity to meet many people in my community while working there. I watched babies grow from newborns to toddlers. This boutique was a place I could find some light in what can be a dark world. While I am sad that the store closed, I am excited to focus solely on my home organizing business. It’s scary though. Putting my eggs all in one basket...or should I say “nest”...is a bit unsettling. I don’t have that steady income I had while also working at the store part-time. And, even though it wasn't a lot of money coming in, it was money I could count on. My safety net is gone. And, it is daunting but exhilarating.

My “word for the year” for 2020 is “Courage”.  One definition I found for courage is “to speak one’s mind by telling all of one’s heart” (what I am doing here right now). Another is “mental or moral strength to venture, persevere, and withstand danger, fear, or difficulty”. I want to be more courageous this year...with my heart, mind, soul, work, relationships. To me, being courageous means to show up and do the right thing, to work hard, to find the positive when all seems to go wrong, to love myself and others wholly, to step out in faith and try something new.

I am going to be courageous in 2020! How about you? Are there things you would like to do that you are afraid of? Is there something you want to accomplish, but don’t know how or where to start? If it has anything to do with organizing your home, I am here for you. I will encourage, support, and walk alongside you in the process. I am your cheerleader and guide.

Believe in yourself. You are better than you think, more talented than you know, and capable of more than you imagine.
